Well, we did it again.
BoxTop Software is proud to make another first in World Wide Web graphics
with the release of ProJPEG- the first, the only, and if anyone else ever
makes another one we'll make sure it stays the best, Photoshop plug-in for
progressive JPEG. (Le'me tell ya', they're COOL ;)
ProJPEGv1.0 is an Adobe Photoshop file format plug-in compatible with
Photoshop 2.5.1 or above, which adds support for progressive JPEG files
to Photoshop, as well as makes some very useful improvements in control
over compression settings for baseline JPEG files, all together making it
the tool for creating the absolute smallest graphics files for your web
pages.
ProJPEGv1.0 has support for saving baseline and progressive JPEG files
from grayscale and RGB image modes. Unlike Photoshop's standard JPEG, it
does not have support for CMYK image mode, since CMYK isn't useful for
World Wide Web graphics. Also, ProJPEG doesn't believe in saving dpi
settings since browsers (You can read that 'Netscape' for now) don't
believe in dpi settings. They show all images at screen resolution.
Just pop it in your plug-ins folder and get ready to make the smallest
graphics files the web has ever seen. Saving a file as progressive JPEG
makes it a damn good bit smaller than a baseline JPEG at the same
compression setting, and ProJPEG gives you absolute control over
compression settings, not just a couple of preset choices.
Since, even with the itty-bitty, blazing color graphics files you can
make with ProJPEG, you just can't make a JPEG transparent, we're offering
a bundle of ProJPEG and PhotoGIF, at a 20% discount off individual
pricing. Get 'em both and rule the Web.
